Thank you for your support
Our partners are warmly thanked for their support, which made it possible to pursue the Institute’s ambitions throughout 2024 and to prepare an ambitious work programme for 2025 and beyond. The strong commitment of those who volunteered their time to work for the Institute has led to increased visibility — a clear step forward, though still insufficient to significantly influence the public debate.
Sustaining the Institute over the long term
It is now important to look beyond 2025 in order to secure the Institute’s long-term activity and to consider expanding its efforts towards Brussels and Germany, as the EU stands at a crossroads in its bid to achieve the energy transition while strengthening its industrial base.

Ongoing Collaborations

Decarbonisation pathway for industrial consumers through nuclear solutions
A decision-support tool to identify the optimal nuclear solution for a given site and its decarbonisation pathway. In collaboration with:
- Core-Power, providing technical analysis and development.
- A global logistics solutions provider, used as a case study.

Identifying the necessary conditions for nuclear hydrogen production
A study to assess the conditions, impacts, and possible pathways for a technology-neutral energy transition in Germany. In collaboration with:
- Stimmen der Kernenergie, a German NGO aiming to promote the recognition of nuclear electricity generation as a key component of the energy transition.

Low-carbon energy transition scenario for Germany
A working group within Task 44 of the TCP focused on analysing the drivers and barriers to hydrogen production using nuclear electricity. In collaboration with:
- IEA Technology Cooperation Program (TCP), exploring all conditions required for
hydrogen production. - ECEA, Task 44 leader, providing a comprehensive perspective on hydrogen use across society.
The TerraWater Circle: Launch Planned for 2025
Open to TerraWater Institute Partners
- An opportunity for open and independent dialogue among energy transition experts, under the Chatham House Rule.*
- An opportunity to see this dialogue translated into the public debate, through clear, well-supported proposals.
The scale of the challenges associated with the energy transition — the development of related sectors, expectations for financing, regulatory evolution, public acceptability, industrial and sovereign implications, etc. — brings with it a range of sensitivities, unspoken tensions, and complexities. The Circle offers a framework that enables in-depth, informed discussions among experts.
* When a meeting is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.
